Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Quito and transfer to your Hotel.

Day 2

Breakfast and travel to Yanacocha Reserve wich is the beginning of this route, it protects 964 ha of elfin Polylepis forest which is home of many hummingbirds including a very scarce and endemic specie the Black Breasted Puffleg. Time to walk through the trails of this reserve to learn about the flora and fauna of the area and to enjoy of the incredible landscapes, box lunch on route surrounded by colorful hummingbirds. Late afternoon you will continue your trip to Mindo where you will dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast you will go to Mindo to visit the butterfly farm, here the local guides will explain you about the metamorphosis of this insect and will introduce you to a different world, the butterflies' world where they can eat from your hands.  After this visit you will have the opportunity to enjoy of the tubing, activity where you can feel the adrenaline in your bodies while you will go down on Nambillo river.

After lunch you will enjoy of the Canopy Tour, this is an amazing journey where you will travel through 10 cables of different sizes that permit you to fly from tree to tree like a bird and enjoy of the amazing landscape. Late in the afternoon you will return to your hotel to diner and overnight.

Day 4

This morning you will visit the famous Paz de las Aves Refuge where you will have the opportunity to live one of the most amazing experiences, visiting the cock of the rock lek.  Besides here it is possible to see three species of Antpittas, the Giant Antpitta, the Moustached Antpitta and the Yellow Breasted Antpitta, beautiful birds that are really difficult to see. In the afternoon you will walk through the trails of Sachatamia Lodge. After lunch return to Quito to overnight in your hotel.

Day 5

After an unforgettable expedition in Ecuador, filled with culture and nature we are transferred to the airport to catch our flight.
